I've been playing around with lettering in my art journal. It's one of the things I really want to work on so that I can get better. I have no natural talent when it comes to handwriting, so I know I will have to make up for that with hard work and perseverance. Practice makes perfect, so if I keep trying, eventually I'll get it, right?
I've also done two more ICAD cards. Today's theme is 'candyland'.
Here's the 3x5:
|She & Him lyrics again...actually I got it wrong, the lyric is "In the light it faded to white, in the light the colors turn to white", so I got it backwards a little...oh well. This is acrylic paint over gelatos. The acrylic wanted to peel a little in places...I don't know if it's because it wasn't all the way dry, or because the acrylic didn't want to stick to the gelatos. The gelatos are meant to look like (abstractly, I guess) skittles...at least I think I got the classic skittles colors right...|
I thought you might like to hear the song for yourself. (I like what the person did with this video, it looks really neat, I think):
And here's the 4x6:
|"You used to be sweet." Except with my bad handwriting, it kind of looks like "You used to be sweat.", which is kinda gross... I had fun playing with the gelatos on this one. I am loving how creamy and smeary they are... it makes for a neat effect. I did the lollipop first, and so it looks a little wonky, but I figured it out a little more by the time I got to the face. I can't wait to play with them some more!|
